The current main armored vehicles are Type 17 foam fire trucks equipped with 3 tons of water and 700 kg of foam liquid; some armored vehicles are AT-type main battle fire trucks equipped with 3.5 tons of water and 1.5 tons of foam liquid.
If the above two fire trucks are not connected to the water source, the water in the water tank will be drained in 2-5 minutes, so most of them are assembled in the central area of the city to deal with general residential fires.
In the urban-rural fringes and areas with many industrial plants, high-power water tank fire trucks need to be equipped, but not because of the large amount of water in this type of vehicle, but because of its high power and long-distance water supply.
It is especially suitable in water-deficient areas; it can act as a water supply unit for fire water cannons when fighting large-scale fires. Of course, if there is no water source at all in an extremely water-deficient area, the only way to put out the fire is to rely on these big-bellied fire trucks to supply water.
Water supply is generally completed in the fire squadron. According to national regulations, a fire hydrant must be set at the door of each fire squadron, which is used to supply water.
No matter how much water is in the fire truck, it will run out. If there is no water supply to replenish, the fire truck will basically be useless soon. Therefore, the rational planning of urban water source layout and the arrangement of fire truck water intake points along the natural water source are the keys to supporting the success of fire fighting operations.
